Current Membership Dates

Faculty, Staff, Emeriti, and Retirees
Please print and completely fill out the Membership Contract and Membership Form. You can mail them to the Coordinator of Member Services at the Student Recreation Center (mail stop #5447) or fax them to (269) 387-3766, attention: Cindy Vanderwoude.

Available Memberships

Access to the WMU Student Recreation Center is available to those who are affiliated with Western Michigan University. Memberships are available on a Semester (Fall/Spring) and Session (Summer I/Summer II) basis. Below is a listing of the affiliations eligible for membership at the WMU SRC and any fees if applicable.
    Full-time Students
    Students paying full-time enrollment fees as part of their tuition and fees have unlimited access to the SRC for each semester/session of enrollment. Please refer to Exempt Student section for exceptions.

    Part-time Students
    Students paying part-time enrollment fees may pay the remaining portion ($37.50 for Fall or Spring and $18.75 for Summer I or Summer II) for unlimited access. Please refer to Exempt Student section for exceptions.

    Exempt Student
    Students enrolled in academic courses with activities that may occur off the main campus, such as student teaching, internships, practicum and field experiences, may be exempt from enrollment fees. In addition, courses offered through Extended University Programs (EUP) and Career English Language Center for International Students (CELCIS) are not assessed the enrollment fee. Students that do not pay enrollment fees may pay $75 for Fall or Spring semesters or $37.50 for Summer I and II sessions for unlimited access to the SRC.

    Non-enrolled Students
    Membership available for one semester or two sessions after last enrollment; fees are $75.00 per semester and $37.50 per session.

    Alumni
    Must be a graduate of WMU and Alumni Association Member; fees are $75.00 per semester and $37.50 per session.

    Benefit Eligible Faculty & Non-Bargaining Staff
    Benefit eligible employees only pay taxes on the $225 yearly membership fee.

    Non-benefit Faculty & Staff
    Must be faculty or staff of Western Michigan University; fees are $75.00 per semester and $37.50 per session.

    MSU/KCMS
    Must provide a letter of employment from their Human Resources Department; fees are $75.00 per semester and $37.50 per session.

    Emeriti/Retiree
    Must be emeriti or retiree of WMU. Please contact member services @ 387-3115 for information on fees.

    Contributor
    Personally contributes $1000 to WMU; fees are $75.00 per semester and $37.50 per session (Spouses are not eligible for membership).

    Spouse
    Spouse of any WMU affiliate category (excludes spouses of contributors); fees are $75.00 per semester and $37.50 per session.

Membership Refund

Student Recreation Center affiliate members may apply for a refund prior to the start of the semester or session for which a membership is purchased. Students who are billed through enrollment fees are not eligible for refunds. Memberships purchased in the office may be refunded prior to the
first day of access for each semester/session ONLY. Faculty or staff that use University sick and/or annual leave to purchase an annual membership are not eligible for a refund.
